An appeal to find a ‘life-saving’ blue cup for a severely autistic boy from Devon has been successful after manufacturer Tommee Tippee stepped in to help.
The baby products manufacturer has promised to create a lifetime’s supply of the cups for Marc Carter’s 14-year-old son Ben.

Earlier this month, the worried father tweeted an appeal asking strangers to help find a replacement for the Tommee Tippee cup which is no longer being produced.
He explained that his son will only drink out of one specific make of cup, adding that his current one was “disintegrating”.

“Ben is 14 and has severe autism, he's non-verbal and has very limited understanding. Since the age of two he has drunk exclusively from a little blue Tommee Tippee two-handled cup," he wrote.
"Fortunately about three years ago we managed to replace this very old and disintegrating cup with a newer one - cup part first, lid a few weeks later. He was suspicious but we survived.”

In a follow-up YouTube video, the delighted father added: “ I had a phone call from Tommee Tippee today. They told me they’ve managed to find the mould that makes Ben’s little blue cup and they want to make Ben as many cups as he needs.
“They [initially] said they didn’t have it ... and that’s because they don’t keep them, but they’ve been looking in China, scouring factories and warehouses and they found it.”
A spokesperson for Tommee Tippee told the BBC: “We are delighted to confirm that we are able to start production on a run of the original cup.
“This will ensure that Ben has a lifetime supply and that his family won’t ever have to worry about finding another cup for Ben.”
Meanwhile, this teenager's kind act for this scared elderly woman has also been shared around the globe.
